We interrupt our second full day of SAG Awards opinionating to do a little assessing of a good, old fashioned movie premiere red carpet. Nature is healing, darlings.

Zoe Saldana in Saint Laurent

This is a really sharp look. It’s hard to make a more or less plain black dress look interesting on a red carpet, but the shape is great on her and the buttons really add some visual oomph. The braid is gorgeous and we love the bangles. Not too  sure about the eye makeup, though.

Walker Scobell

A cute way to stay kid-appropriate and red carpet-ready.

Mark Ruffalo

It feels like the plaid suit is past its most recent heyday, although we’d never expect Mark Ruffalo to be up on the trends. It’s a pretty good look for him, especially since he has a history of hitting red carpets looking a little too sloppy.

Jennifer Garner in Alexandre Vauthier

It seems like the fit could have been a little bit better in the bodice, but this is a pretty striking and stylish look for her overall. Love the high halter neckline with slightly ecclesiastic feel to it.

Blake Lively (in Atelier Versace) and Ryan Reynolds (in Brunello Cucinelli)

We bet Blake missed having red carpets in her life. This is exactly the kind of showy, slightly tacky frock she’s always adored. We don’t hate it, but it’s overdesigned and we’re not feeling the color story for her. He looks pretty good, but we’re surprised to see some fit issues in the jacket. Also, that’s a pretty dull tie.
