While we can’t say we loved every look at the Louboutin x InStyle mag dinner, we couldn’t let these efforts go by without a little bit of attention from us just because they made for such a festive lot. Some recent rundowns have been a little dreary, so we’re happy to celebrate some stars who aren’t afraid of looking like they dressed for a party. Having said that, there are definitely some goofy looks here.

Alexandra Daddario in Valentino

Love the dress, Not super-crazy about the matchy sandals.

Charles Melton

No effort. No points awarded. Go home, sir.

Cole Sprouse in Versace

Love the suit, hate the sweater and the white boots with it. What odd choices.

Elisa Sednaoui

Great suit, but the footwear’s a no.

Janelle Monae

You can read our spotlight post thoughts on Janelle’s ensemble here.

Jurnee Smollett in Magda Butrym

This is fun and party-ready. The color looks great on her and we like the choice of a darker red shoe. The bag’s gorgeous but you barely notice it. That twisted fabric around her waist is a terrible design element, though.

Kiernan Shipka in Rodarte

Love the color and the black trim. The skirt’s really cute, but that bodice design is just weird.

Maria Bakalova

Low-key pretty. Perhaps not the most photogenic dress in the world, but it clearly suits her well. We think pumps would be a better choice, though.

Mj Rodriguez in Jean Paul Gaultier

SLAY, mama. This is wildly overdesigned but it looks gorgeous on her. We’d edit out the fringe epaulets and the lace hem, though.

Sydney Sweeney in Rodarte

This is a better version of Kiernan Shipka’s dress  (still think the bodice is a little odd, though) and we love the boots and tights with it.
