These sleeves, on the other hand, are fabulous. We would expect no less from this gaybird.

It’s not exactly reinventing the wheel but it’s very on brand for her and it’s hard to argue with the results.
Cecily Strong in Azzaro
And while Cecily’s dress is equally as standard in a lot of ways, it’s such a shock seeing her work such a sexy Elvira gown that we kinda love it for her.
Cedric The Entertainer in Rich Fresh
We can’t help thinking the color blocking looks a little like a supermarket chain logo, but we still love this.
Hannah Einbinder in Prada
Absolutely never could have predicted that she’d go such a traditional route, but it was definitely a year for classic styles. She looks great, but we would not recommend this as a go-to style for her. It doesn’t play to her strengths.
Jennifer Coolidge in Christian Siriano
Simply flawless – and with great hair, to boot.
Kaley Cuoco in Vera Wang
The design is sweet but the color is terrible on her.
Kenan Thompson in Bogard by MikeB
Really cute but the shoes are a letdown.
Keri Russell (in Zuhair Murad Couture) and Mathew Rhys
It looks fine on her, but we’re thinking she’s not well suited to these Cher styles, really. He’s fine too.
Nicole Byer in Christian Siriano
LOVELOVELOVE this. And you can tell she does too.
Regé-Jean Page in Giorgio Armani
It’s impossible to make him look bad but somehow the bottom half of this ensemble is not up to the standards of the top half.
Rita Wilson in Tom Ford
It’s about as classic as a formal pantsuit gets, but it looks amazing on her. Love the stacked necklaces.
Robin Thede in Jason Wu
We’re still not fans of this toothpastey/Tiffany color, but this looks really pretty on her, even the shower puff bust.
Rosie Perez in Pamella Roland
Drag eleganza, as befits a legend.
Samira Wiley in Genny
Another really great iteration of the formal ladysuit. Love the wide tie.
Taraji P. Henson in Elie Saab
We just weren’t loving this. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it, but it feels stale to us. Maybe we just hit the wall after so many classic and borderline generic gowns this year.
Tracee Ellis Ross in Valentino Couture
We feel similarly about this one, but it’s saved by that red, her hair, and her ability to make everything look fabulous, but especially these seventies-inspired disco styles.
