Everything about this feels like a throwback look, from the color story to the spaghetti straps to Nicole’s fabulously curly hair.
She looks spectacular and it all feels very Carrie Bradshaw circa 2002, which pretty much makes it right on trend. Speaking of trends, this is the second pair of counterintuitively brown pumps we’ve seen in the last week, the other pair showing up on Yara Shahidi at the Emmys. Is this going to be a thing? Because we don’t think we much like them paired with this dress. We also don’t think the hem looks right with ankle straps. Still, footwear quibbles aside, this is the most fun she’s looked on a red carpet in ages. Then again, she hasn’t exactly been about and about much in the last couple of years. This is the first Nicole Kidman on an honest-to-Hollywood red carpet post on this site since January 2020. Welcome back, lady. Sorry about all that stuff we said about your shoes.
