It seems to us that Pope Tilda, after first coming out strong in a couple of eye-popping outfits that instantly went viral, has spent the remainder of her extended time on the 2021 Cannes Film Festival red carpet working her way through her latest style iteration:
Simple, relaxed pieces paired with Bob’s Big Boy or Heat Miser hair. That’s the bitchy, reductive take. The more, shall we say… considered take is that we think as she moves into her sixties, she’s taking on a much less haute chic, drop dead sort of style and dressing in an artsy sort of gallery owner or documentary producer or textiles professor style. It really suits her, allows her to keep her artist bona fides, and satisfies the fashion press by remaining effortlessly and timelessly chic. It feels very Tilda while also feeling like she’s turning a page somehow.
