If it could be said that there is a queen of the Fast & Furious franchise, then Jordana Brewster’s got the right to claim the crown over most others (with Michelle Rodriguez putting up a good fight for it), which is why we tend to think this very gowny sort of gown doesn’t come across as high-faluting, the way it might have if Charlize had shown up wearing it. This is her franchise and these are her people. She’s got every reason to stroll into the premiere looking every inch the movie star.

Having said that, we’re just not sure about this one. Pink sequined gowns can be so boring, but this one doesn’t come across basic or generic. If anything, it’s probably a bit overdesigned. The color looks great on her and we love the bottom half of it (yes, even the platforms, which we used to think looked wrong with formalwear but years of red carpet commenting wore us down). The gown benefits from having a deeply textural quality that comes across in pictures and gives it a certain sort of depth. It’s the bodice we can’t stand. We’re not as firm against belly cutouts as we once were (again, we got worn down on that one), but this one looks sort of awkward and overwrought. There’s enough going on with this gown (including a hip flower) that it didn’t need the cutout or the bikini-esque bust. But hey, maybe y’all feel different so we’re throwing it out to you:
