Bill and Cathy Cambridge stepped out to Scotland to visit Turning Point, a social care charity, but they kept things masky this time. And for a second there, we almost thought the Duchess was wearing pleated gauchos; a style development that would no doubt have become an international incident were it true. But alas, she’s just got a slightly tricky pleated skirt for us today.
Two minor things of note in this otherwise by-the-books Cathy ensemble: the subtle two-tone of the skirt is a kicky little change of pace for her and her matching skills (the jacket’s from Zara) are excellent. Except for the difference in weight, we’d have assumed this was a suit. That sort of brownish goldenrod in the accessories is a slightly counter-intuitive choice. It’s interesting, but we’re not convinced it works. We should admit we don’t particularly love this shade of blue.
