Cathy and Bill Cambridge had a morning visiting youth groups in Wolverhampton in recognition of a cause near and dear to them, Mental Health Awareness Week. That’s all very nice, but we’re here for the shallow bits.
We haven’t seen these two this coordinated in ages. They’re essentially wearing the same outfit with only minor variations. We think it’s safe to say Kate’s sassy little coat dress period is, if not over, then on an extended pause. To be fair, she hasn’t done any formal or semi-dressy appearances in quite some time and we expect the appropriate stepping up of effort the next time she has to visit an art gallery or museum or something like that. Most of her work since lockdown started last year has been more public works-based; less about culture or pomp and more about essential workers and public health. Her style choices have been appropriately toned down to meet the moment. We think this look strikes a nice balance, because it feels like workday clothes, but it has just enough pop to it to make it photogenic. We wouldn’t normally love a scalloped collar, but that and the polka dots provide the only visual interest.
Of course her gardening gloves are perfectly coordinated. Send a tea basket to whichever assistant made sure of that little detail, Cathy.
