Kittens, we have a teensy-weensy little leftovers roster for you this week. We tore through the Grammys and Kids’ Choice Awards red carpets, but as we noted earlier today, there’s always a slight lull in celebrity land in the days following the Oscar noms. The stars who didn’t get the nod want to go into hiding and eat carbs again while the ones who are now on the Oscar track want to regather their forces and come up with a publicity game plan going forward. And also to stop eating carbs. So we are more grateful than ever to the following folks, who managed to step out of all that background and still serve us looks, even if they weren’t quite worthy of a spotlight post. Onward! To judgment!
Allison Janney in Golden Goose
Chic, elegant and flawless! Her hair looks amazing with the bold red.
Andrea Riseborough in Dundas
We love what an incredible drama queen she is about posing for the ‘gram. That’s how you do it these days. We’re not sure how well the combination of those pants and that blouse would work in the real world, but it takes a fabulous shot.
Andrea Riseborough in Schiaparelli
Just spectacular. Love all that gold hardware. The glasses are absurd punk art.
Megan Thee Stallion in Christian Siriano
She’s had a banner week which was well deserved and we’ve been Christian Siriano’s earliest supporters (literally), so we’ll be nice and let them both have this one. It’s … not to our tastes, let’s say.
Priyanka Chopra (in Greta Constantine) and Nick Jonas (in Dolce&Gabbana)
We cringed a little at his suit when we first saw it, but to be fair, it was early and we hadn’t had our coffee yet. They were dressed to announce the Oscar nominations and all things considered, we’re impressed by how restrained they both are. Her dress is pretty but not the kind of outrageous fashion she tends to prefer. And yes, the more we look at it, the more we think he’s pulling off that yellow, unlikely as it seems.
Priyanka Chopra in Balenciaga
See, this is more along the lines of what we’d expect her to wear for the Oscar noms. We’re glad she didn’t although we love this look.
Rita Ora in Maticevski
We hate that the tulle parts look dirty compared to the white of the fabric.
Rosamund Pike in Givenchy
This was apparently the week when bold, basic red went trendy. We love the fit here, but those elbow cutouts are dumb.
