We tend to think Ruth Negga almost never gets her style wrong. Oh, sure. There have been one or two wobbles along the way, but for the most part, her red carpet style has always been dramatically impeccable, occasionally boundary-pushing, and always well-suited to her.
And we don’t necessarily think she’s breaking her winning streak with this look, but for the purposes of providing you all with something distracting and of no consequence (more or less the driving ethos of this site), we’re gonna nitpick a little and let you make the final call. The skirt is gorgeous and we love her hair here. It’s really the bodice that bugs. We never liked those squared-off plunging necklines and the bust just looks like a couple strips of fabric instead of something with a little shape to it. We also don’t think that necklace coordinated with it all that well. That neckline pretty much demands a pendant. We wouldn’t claim she looks bad here, but we want to know if you think the good outweighs the parts that don’t work. In other words…
