Tilda Swinton has entered her Fuck-it Fashion years and we are happy to report that we do, in fact, love to see it. After decades of delivering some of the best high fashion the red carpets of the world had ever seen, she appears to be dialing way back on the fuss and leaning far more into the idea of comfort. But because she’s Pope Tilda, she is simply incapably of reducing the drama or lowering the chic factor.
In Chanel at the Three Thousand Years of Longing Premiere
The is the most formal of her Cannes looks and in many ways, one of her most classically Tilda in tone. She’s giving us the Bowie hair and a gown that may not ask too much of her, but still delivers on impact and elegance.
In Alaïa at the Three Thousand Years of Longing Photocall
This is your pontiff in her humbler, daytime form. She is all about the comfy but still capable of showing up sporting a look you just can’t stop looking at.
In Alaïa at the R.M.N Premiere
And of course Tilda the First would seek out the biggest twist on the ladytux possible. We don’t love this design but we do respect it for the way it rethinks classic forms in experimental ways. We love that she chose it and we love that she’s serving as a living example that you can let your style evolve through the years and still stay yourself.
