Instead of doing our usual Friday leftovers, we find ourselves with such a surplus of eye-popping lewks that we’d rather focus solely on the ladies hitting the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in their finery. If we don’t do a rundown, why, some of these looks might go by without our loving assessment of them! Could you even imagine? All that effort and T Lo never said a word. We’re providing a service, really.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Gaurav Gupta Couture

We don’t quite love it as fashion but we adore it as spectacle. She knows what the Cannes red carpet’s all about.

Anne Hathaway in Gucci

Annie’s really having a “By the way, I’m really hot, in case you forgot” sort of week and we’re loving that for her. This is cute, but the dress is slightly overdesigned.

Eva Longoria in Cristina Ottaviano

These two queens will never not love a perfectly fitted disco ball gown.

Julia Roberts in Dior

We might have liked this more for her if she’d unleashed the iconic Roberts mane, but it looks too severe and dowdy here. We don’t think it’s really her style.

Kat Graham in Ashi Studio

It’s not reinventing the wheel, but it’s fun and fabulous.

Katherine Langford in Valentino

Meh. We feel like both this shade of Valentino pink and the exposed bra trend are nearing their expiration dates.

Lashana Lynch in Dolce & Gabbana

AS WE SAID, these two queens will never not love a well-fitted disco ball gown (although we like this one the best).

Noomi Rapace

The reason we think this pink needs to go, aside from it being ubiquitous all year, is because entire looks rest solely on the fact that they’re a brilliant pink. There’s nothing else of interest here and the style doesn’t suit her.

Rebecca Hall in Akris

Low-key fabulous, if you can call a look with that much ice supporting it “low-key.”

Rebecca Hall in Gucci

High-key fabulous. Interesting how she saved the serious jewels for the less dramatic look. Good instincts.

Saoirse Ronan in David Koma

These aren’t the best conditions for posing, to be fair, but this doesn’t seem like it’s doing anything for her.
