You simply can’t know, darlings. When we say we shrieked with delight and laughter at these pics, we just can’t accurately convey how our responses rose up from the deepest, darkest, long-dormant depths of our bitchy fashion bloggers’ souls.
We didn’t clap and laugh and perhaps do tiny little dances of joy because Diane Kruger’s little getup here is hilarious. It’s not even bad. The dress is pretty cute, but the bag and shoes wouldn’t be out first choices for her. It’s because “WMF” isn’t the name of a film or television show or album. It’s a coffee machine. She’s all gussied up to promote the launch of a new model of kitchen appliance. We’d totally forgotten that, in the days before 2020 (which can seem like decades ago sometimes), celebrities routinely got dressed up to promote everything from yogurt to cigars to cereal brands. It’s a form of coverage so minor and goofy that we forgot to even miss it. Popping up again like this may not necessarily mean nature is healing, but we’re delighted to see this little slice of celebrity normalcy return. Get your coin, girl. We hope she got paid to show up and to wear the dress.
