Claire Danes brings theme dressing back to the red carpet (we’d hoped it was a short-lived trend) and Tom Hiddleston forgot both his tie and his undershirt at the London screening of their limited series The Essex Serpent.
It’s perhaps a little telling that there’s no trailer for the series, which drops its first two episodes on Apple TV+ on May 13th, but a press release kindly informs us that it’s about “London widow Cora Seaborne who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar, but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.” Hence, the dragon dress. Despite our harrumphing, we can’t get mad at it. It’s a gorgeous dress, relatively low effort, takes a great picture and the colors really flatter her. A bit of a no-brainer, really.
His Dior Homme suit is impeccable, if a little dull. Forgoing the tie doesn’t make it more interesting and only serves to point out his lack of an undershirt. We’re sitting here tsking him.
