We are extremely pleased to introduce our VERY FIRST RED CARPET RUNDOWN OF 2020! You guys! This is so exciting! Put your judging pants on and walk with us!

Alexandra Daddario in Atelier Versace

We were mostly okay with it until we got to the hellaciously over-sized shoes. Girl, what is going on there?

Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton

You can’t ever claim she shows up looking standard or boring. While this might seem like too much like, she’s the one lady who can handle it all easily. We love it.

Hannah Einbinder in Dior Couture

It’s a great shape and style for her but we hate the old pantyhose color.

Jennifer Hudson in Vera Wang

Not reinventing any wheels but it’s pretty and cute. That soft pink looks great on her.

Julianna Margulies in Narciso Rodriguez

The design of the bust and bodice is so terrible that we can’t see anything else.

Juno Temple in Atelier Versace

She was so excited to talk about this dress on the red carpet and got a little emotionally overwhelmed when given the chance to do so. It’s hard not to love a dress when the wearer is that excited about it. Those shoulders are tough to pull off, but she’s tiny and it doesn’t overwhelm her. Our only quibble is that the shade of gold is a little too pale for her.

Karen Pittman in Greta Constantine

It’s a gorgeous shade of yellow but we’re not convinced it flatters her. We do love the necklace paired with it, though.

Kerry Washington in Celia Kritharioti

This shade looks great on her, though. Love the lip color paired with it.

Marlee Matlin in Lafayette 148

It’s got an elegant, retro style that really suits her. Those shoes are going to need to be retired from red carpet rotation. We think a half-dozen women wore them that night.

Melanie Lynskey

It feels like we’re seeing a lot of classic gowns lately, like everyone’s yearning so much for a return to normal. To be fair, she never struck us as the type that would go for trendy looks. Love this color on her and the neckline is lovely. Our only quibbles are that the clutch doesn’t do much for the look and the hem length would be better an inch or two lower.

Mira Sorvino in Wolk Morais

We love that she and Lisa Kudrow dressed in homages to the characters from Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion. We just wish that we loved this suit. A little too shiny and ill-fitting to work.

Piper Perabo in Bazza Alzouman

Oooh, no. We HATE the design of this thing. There are a ton of really gross allusions and references we might have made back in the day when we were much bigger bitches but we’ll leave it up to your imagination to guess what they might be.

Sandra Oh in Carolina Herrera

Absolutely adore this look on her.

Sophie Hunter and Benedict Cumberbatch in Dior

Her dress is interesting, but we really don’t like the color at all. If it had been just a little darker or richer, we might have been on board. He’s fine – in every sense of the word.

Vanessa Hudgens in Atelier Versace

We don’t love the toothpaste color, but the fit is spectacular.

Venus Williams in Dolce & Gabbana

There’s a way to do a great sort of Amazon warrior style for Venus, but this (almost literal) half-assed dress is not it.
