What is the AMBULANCE Paris premiere you might be asking? And why are all of these beautiful people smiling together? We had the same questions! And what’s great about all of this is that you will have answers to all of these questions by the time you get to the end of this post! Which means regardless of whether we like their outfits, we can still pat these stars on their virtual backs and commend them for a job well done. Now about those outfits…

Surprise! We don’t hate any of them! We do, however, have quibbles. You can’t possibly be surprised by that.

Jake Gyllenhaal in Prada

Okay, we may have lied a little. We love the jacket and the shoes, but we hate the black dress pants and we’re angry he’s wearing it all unbuttoned like that. Prada, if you gave us beautiful double-breasted jackets, we promise we’ll wear them properly. To be fair, we live like hermits, but still. Anyway, the fit in the jacket looks a little off in the shoulders but it’s hard to tell from the way he’s wearing it.

Eiza González in Stella McCartney

First off, kudos to her for showing up so bereft of wrinkles. We can only presume that she was lowered onto the red carpet from a helicopter or something. If you watch the trailer below, it might not sound like such an unlikely idea. Anyway, this is inoffensively pretty if a little generic. We like the sparkly shoulder piece. The bracelet is perfectly chosen. Not love the hair.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen in Fendi

He is definitely a man who can handle that much shine on the red carpet. We like the overall look, but we’re not super-crazy about the bathrobe length of the coat.

That does not look like something worth all of this fashion, but we appreciate the effort.
