We have to resist the urge to say that Kim Kardashian is up to her usual fashion nonsense, but we don’t think this Prada ensemble quite fits the bill for that description. We’ll admit, when the publicist email popped up in our box announcing that she was wearing Prada, our eyebrows went up. This is not a brand we’d ever have associated with her. Then again, this look doesn’t fall under what we’d consider the typical Prada aesthetic, not least because she’s in menswear.
She looks very squeaky.
The coat is a stunner and the gray/chartreuse color combination is eye-catching, although we’re not sure it really works for her coloring. Granted, it’s a little hard to tell because front row shots are captured under the worst lighting conditions. We don’t think the jumpsuit works at all. Maybe it would if she wore one that’s sized to her, but she’s very much in a period where she’s all about covering up (hence the gloves) and getting away from the semi-naked, extreme body-con looks that defined her for so long. We don’t love this look, but we think it’s an interesting step in her ongoing style evolution. And like almost everything she wears in public, it’s hard to look away from it.
