Well, we can officially declare that Nicole Kidman achieved two impossible goals this month. First, she made us believe she could deliver an awards-buzz-worthy performance as Lucille Ball (you can hear our review of Being the Ricardos in last week’s podcast) after we spent at least a month declaring her casting questionable if not a disaster. The second impossible thing she did this month was to make us believe that a tan sequined suit could be fabulous.
Tan sequins. Why even bother, right? Trying to dress the blandest of hues up with a little sparkle is like adding balloons to an audit. And yet, her witchcraft endures. She looks fantastic and we love the choice of silver for the sandals. None of it comes off showy and yet you can’t take your eyes off her. That’s how a pro does it.
