Lucy Hale stopped by Good Morning America to talk about her rather grim-looking upcoming crime drama Ragdoll and instead of going the “I’m doing Serious Work now” route, she stuck to the kind of cartoon candy couture that’s always suited her best.

We’ve gotta say, we pretty much love every bit of this. No notes or crits, girl. You understood the assignment, which was to show up on America’s screens first thing in the morning, looking bright and cheery as you talk about your new dismemberment show. Well done. We could do without the chain, but that’s the only quibble we have. It’s barely noticeable in the middle of all that color, pattern and shape. She looks great. May as well work that Katy Keene style for as long as you can, especially if it’s fashionable at the moment. Post-lockdown, we’re living in a golden era of bold colors, big shapes, and bright patterns – all the stuff we’ve been bitching about missing for years. All it took was a little national trauma to get all the stars on board.
