First things first: We are actually quite happy to report our evident wrongness regarding Nicole Kidman’s casting in Being the Ricardos. Early screening buzz is that she’s blowing audiences away and is a shoo-in for a slew of nominations. That’s fun! Now we can’t wait to see it AND we can’t wait to see Nicole mount a full-bore Oscar campaign. It’s been a while.
In fact, we think it’s correct to consider this look at this event to be an opening salvo in the campaign. It’s sexier, more colorful and more traditionally glamorous than her preferences tend to lead her. We wonder if she won’t be putting on more of an Old Hollywood Glamour approach given her role as Lucille Ball. Anyway, we love the color and the neckline, but we don’t like anything happening from the knees down or the neck up, sorry to say. That hair is not working for her at all and her makeup looks a little harsh.
