Jeremy “I collect firetrucks” Renner and Hailee Steinfeld hit the red carpet for the premiere of Hawkeye and we have to say, they both did a pretty great job of it.
The fit on his fit is slightly off (sleeves and pants too long, jacket too snug), but we’re surprised to admit that we like the dark blue tux with a black dress shirt. We don’t even mind that he’s wearing it without a tie, since that would seem to be way more in line with his preferred style and it suits him. A too buttoned-up look would feel wrong somehow and this has just enough Rat Pack energy to it to make it seem kind of retro chic.
This is such a smart suit in a fantastic color. Of course the color choice isn’t solely because she looks great in it, but because it’s the color of her character’s costume. We generally don’t love cosplay on premiere red carpets, but there’s no real danger of the Dickinson star becoming so associated with her superhero character that she winds up getting typecast. Like her co-star, her sleeves and pants are just a skosh too long. But the real story here is how she heeded Coco Chanel’s advice and took one item off before hitting that red carpet:
Going on the assumption that’s not real fur, it’s a ridiculously fabulous look. But since it looks a lot like real fur and she took it off for the red carpet, we’re left wondering it it’s fake or not.
