Cathy Cambridge started the day with a bold statement – and we don’t mean the brilliant red she’s sporting.

It was a great idea to choose such a declarative and unmissable ensemble for an appearance like this one. Unfortunately, our job is to be nitpicky bitches. We love the skirt and the boldness of the color, but we’re afraid that’s all we love here. The styling choices baffle us. Putting aside our dislike of turtlenecks (which the Cambridges appear to be embracing wholeheartedly this week), we don’t love the way this one looks shoved into the skirt. It’s such an unnecessarily unforgiving way to wear a skirt like that, even if she can pull it off. We’re also SUPER not crazy about pairing this shade of red with light brown accessories. She was always a bit iffy on these matters whenever she tries to get away from the matchy shoes and bag. We know this particular brown is pretty trendy right now, but we just don’t think it works well with that red. That skirt deserves better.
