Another name to check off the post-2020 “I haven’t seen her in a dog’s age” list: Miss Angelina Jolie, whose last red carpet appearance was almost exactly two years ago. She’s back with all her kids and, well, if you thought her style might have changed or evolved, it’s pretty much more of the same: goddessy gowns in neutral colors. What’s of interest this time…
… is that she got the whole clan to dress up just as neutrally. Not a family that loves bold or bright colors, it seems. Also of interest is that Zahara Jolie-Pitt is wearing the Elie Saab gown that Angelina wore to the 2014 Oscars.
Lack of interesting color aside, we actually really love this for her. The brown is an interesting choice and the complicated structure and draping ensure that nothing about this gown comes off generic. What really makes the look are the jewelry choices. She’s really leaning into the whole ancient goddess thing and to be fair, there’s not many style archetypes for which she’s more well-suited than that one. She doesn’t love a lot of fuss or fakery in her fashion, so leaning into the drama of her own looks is always a good idea. Love the bracelets, but that face jewelry is stunning.
