If you’re joining us at the start of the week (which is Tuesday, for the purposes of this post), you may want to check out our weekend coverage of the Venice Film Festival. Yes, it’s true. Bloggers never sleep. Not when there’s a ton of high-end fashion on big-name celebrities to discuss. Miss Anya wowed the hell out of us with her Romantic Boho Chic look stepping off the boat in Venice, but she had a far different style to work for the rest of the weekend. Miss Anya, you see, has gone totally Barbie.

CHRISTIAN DIOR COUTURE

You may be surprised to learn that Lorenzo hates this. His take is that this is just too precious and costumey to take seriously as Dior Couture. He doesn’t think the design or the workmanship denotes Haute Couture levels of finery and he doesn’t love the matchiness of all that bubblegum pink, from hat to pumps. Tom doesn’t necessarily disagree with any of that, but he enjoyed this look for what it was: a cheeky, fun bit of self-promotion by delivering a high-impact Euro-fashion look at the exact right time and place for it.

She stepped out later in the weekend in a dress that had similarly draggy/fashion doll undertones:

DICE KAYEK

And we’re both in sort-of agreement on this one. It’s definitely high-impact and photogenic. It definitely plays into her eerie good looks by turning her into a fashion doll, but we both hate the shape and color of the dress and think the sandals are kind of terrible. We’re glad the bag isn’t orange, but we’re not convinced it goes with the outfit.

Still, we don’t mean to sound cranky here. These looks are a lot of fun and sometimes a girl just doesn’t want serious fashion on her back when she’s enjoying herself.
