We gave some spotlight time to several of the stars of No Time to Die, and we even gave one of its screenwriters her own time in the judging circle (not to mention a gaggle of princes and princesses in attendance), but make no mistake: everyone at this Royal World Premiere cane dressed for the occasion, With the sudden explosion of high-end red carpetry lately, it feels like the stars are finally back in the game and willing to go big again. You will never hear these two bitches complain about that. You will hear us judge them all, though. Shall we, then? Judge them, that is?
Ben Whishaw in Alexander McQueen
Just perfect, from the delicate lapels to the big-ass shoes. It’s a look we’ve seen often enough, but he’s so well-suited to it we hope he never stops wearing it.
Finneas O’Connell and Billie Eilish in Gucci
He looks great. As always, we’re here for self-expression and her refusal to be put into a slot but those fancy funeral pajamas do not go well with those platform slides.
Jason Momoa in Henry Poole & Co
We wondered why Jason Momoa was there, considering he’s not in the film and absolutely isn’t the type of star to seek out red carpets for the fun of it, but it turns out he wrangled an invite from Daniel Craig because he wanted to bring his kids and he said on Instagram that he felt like “KING CINDERELLA” and oh God, that is just about the most adorably Jason Momoa thing we’ve ever heard. Also, he looks great.
Jeffrey Wright
Perfection. That color looks amazing on him and his fit is tailored better than Daniel Craig’s velvet tux.
Judi Dench
The Dame likes to keep things simple. This is practically a uniform for her, but it gets the job done.
Léa Seydoux in Louis Vuitton
It’s an absolutely stunning gown with one pretty much unworkable dealbreaker of a design element: that tiered effect on the bodice. But we’ve gotta say, she’s actually making it work, but that may be due to how many other things there are to look at in the design. It’s definitely striking and dramatic.
Michelle Yeoh in Elie Saab Couture
It’s pretty, but she’s hauling way too much fabric around and it looks like it’s overwhelming her.
Naomie Harris in Michael Kors Collection
The dress is … fine? We don’t hate it, but we feel like we’ve seen her in a million more interesting outfits than this. It’s probably not helping that so many other people brought their A Game to this one, but we’d think that was to be expected for this premiere. Love the hair, though.
Rami Malek in Prada
We miss how adventurous his red carpet style used to be. This is fine. Standard and a bit wrinkled, but fine.
