Darlings, today we’ve shown you the serious references, the political slogans, the underlying meanings, and the times when you shouldn’t overthink things in regards to this year’s Met Gala red carpetry. The one thing we haven’t discussed yet just happens to be the style Emily Blunt is most adept at serving: delightful whimsy.

It’s not complicated and (five-pointed stars aside) it’s not really on theme. We don’t think there were any deeper references here. We just think she wanted to serve up a little fairy queen realness and frankly, who can blame her? She looks gorgeous and we could all use a break from the seriousness for a minute.
