First, it should be noted that Jessica Chastain is coming out of film festival season riding some hot awards buzz for her work in The Eyes of Tammy Faye playing the titular role. That means everything she wears at a promotional appearance from now until nominations start getting announced will have more meaning attached to it and more attention paid to it.
Second, we’re ashamed to admit that we never saw this style turn coming and we really should have.
Is there a more appropriate way to hit the red carpet for this film than in a ton of eye slap and dress made out of a disco ball? If you think this whole look is a bit much, perhaps we should provide you with a little more context about the event:
If you’re partying with drag queens for a Tammy Faye biopic premiere, this is how you dress. Incidentally, the queen in the green dress is Marti Gould Cummings, who made an appearance with us on our book tour and guested on the accompanying podcast. Love to see them living their best life on the red carpet.
