We will admit up front that an ensemble this low key might not have rated its own post on a week with more celebrity style options to discuss. NEVERTHELESS (which is a word we really should use more often), we find this somewhat standard pantsuit to be worth discussing because it plays to Awkwafina’s preferences but doesn’t overwhelm her like some of her style choices.
She’s all over the map when it comes to her style, but she definitely doesn’t enjoy being too conventional. When she can get away with it, she’ll wear some really goofy, occasionally edgy looks, but most of her promo style tends to straddle that line separating the unconventional from the entirely conventional. In other words, she tries to find pieces that are conventional with a twist. In this case, she’s indulging her preference for large, slouchy pieces while maintaining exactly the right fit and tailoring that suits her. It’s a low-key look but it’s done exactly right, which can often be as impactful as a more showy look.
