Over the years, we’ve picked up/formulated a set of guidelines as to how a celebrity should dress for practically any sort of promotional situation, from their latest movie to the cereal brand that’s paying them to pose like a trade show model. We’ve covered it all; the highs and lows, the good and the bad. It’s been a really long time since we’ve encountered a celebrity style situation for which we have no point of reference, so it’s kind of exciting that Emilia Clarke gave us something completely new to ponder. How does an actress dress when she’s making a Tonight Show appearance to talk about the comic book she wrote?

Like that, evidently.

The former Game of Thrones star (and recently cast-in-a-mysterious-role MCU star) has written a comic book called Maya Mother of Madness and well, we’re just gonna let you go off and figure out what that’s all about. We’re here for the outfit, as per the usual. We hate those pointy-toed sandals, but the skirt and top are kind of cute. We wouldn’t recommend a crop top for an in-studio appearance, but she did this one virtually. Personally, we think the top and skirt should break up and see other items. Our only quibble with the design is that the button detail is really overwhelming.
