One the one hand, posting shots of a super-hot man in a brilliantly bold and exciting ensemble is a no-brainer for us.

On the other hand, this makes for another wonderful opportunity for us to explain why we cover celebrities wearing D&G even though the brand and its namesakes have a problematic history. If Meghan Thee Stallion wants to accept her Grammy in D&G or Colman Domingo wants to promote his movie in it or Priyanka Chopra wants to attend the Billboard Awards wearing it, we can’t think of a more obnoxious example of self-important faux wokeness than to take a stand, as two white fashion bloggers, against Black or Asian actors and performers for not being sufficiently woke in their choices. The fact remains that D&G is a very popular brand for celebrities, largely because they make eye-popping, highly photogenic pieces for their promotional work. We suppose we could refuse to cover white celebrities for wearing it and give a pass (and coverage) to any celebrities of colors who choose to, but that feels condescendingly racist in its own way. And we have never harbored any illusions that we wield any true influence in this arena; not when there are literally millions and millions of dollars of branding and promotional work in the mix.

So congrats, Colman. You are looking super-fine and we love that you continue to refuse to be conventional in your style choices.
