We’ve given the spotlight treatment to several of the BET Awards red carpet looks, but now it’s time to put this event to bed with the remaining looks that caught our eye. We’re warning you, though: they’re not what anyone would call “full coverage” looks. It was a night for flashy body-baring and some of these ladies dived right into those waters. Others took a slightly more demure approach.
Andra Day in Rosie Assoulin
It’s a bit of a throwback dress, although it’s all very much of-the-moment and on trend. We think it’s a bit too softly romantic for our tastes, but we can’t deny it’s a style that looks great on her.
Ashanti in Julien Macdonald
This is going to sound a little silly to say about a dress that has so much going on, but the fringe is a bridge too far for us.
Chloe Bailey in Valentino
Well, it’s definitely not lacking for impact. She’s young and trying to make a splash, so … mission accomplished, we guess. Doesn’t look very comfy, though. And we can’t imagine that didn’t leave criss-cross tracks after she sat down.
H.E.R. in Giorgio Armani
Just when we finally got used to sheer dresses, they spring sheer pants on us. Sorry, H.E.R. You’re fabulous, but we can’t sign off on these.
Issa Rae in Balmain
Simply can’t argue with any of that.
Marsai Martin in Annakiki
Really cute. We think you have to be young to make a top that silly and pants that shiny really work.
Megan Thee Stallion in Jean Paul Gaultier
She has a real knack for making these sexy body-based looks come off really powerful. We don’t love the design from the waist down, but she’s working the hell out of it.
Saweetie in Dolce & Gabbana
Another design that we don’t necessarily love (although the color and drape are gorgeous), but the wearer knows exactly what to do with it.
