It’s not often that we get to mention Kelly Clarkson and Beyoncé in the same sentence, but much like we did with Kelly, we’re gonna give Bey the spotlight for course-correcting from her last ensemble. Personally, we didn’t have too much of a problem with it even with the full acknowledgement that the outfit was tacky as hell. As we noted then, sometimes a pop star diva just needs to swing a little focus-pulling maneuver and there’s a certain benefit in working a trashy glam look instead of a chic or sharp one.

We’re gonna go ahead and call this one of the best non-stagewear ensembles we’ve ever seen her wear. On stage or in a video, her lewks are iconic. On a red carpet or other less controlled setting? Hit or miss. But this is great; hitting all her style sweet spots (sexy, a little hard, with big accents) while having a restrained chicness and attitude to it. Just a great look that says Beyoncé in every way. LOVING the shades. It’s amazing how much the addition of the belt changes the dress.
