We are THRILLED to report that there was not too much slacking off in the men’s department for this year’s SAG Awards. Not only that, it seems like most of the men who virtually attended opted for eye-popping and unconventional choices. Nary a basic black tuxedo in sight – and we love that.

Gentlemen? Start your engines…

Colman Domingo in Grayscale

We go back and forth on whether the shirt should be in a contrasting color. All the power in the look is in the monochromatic quality and we don’t think there are many colors that go with peach. He’s pulling this off.

Daniel Kaluuya in Louis Vuitton

Meh. The fashion press loved him for this but we can’t say we were on board. It is a nice set of pajamas, though.

Daveed Diggs in Dolce & Gabbana

We love that actors dress like rockstars now. Not sure about the sequined t-shirt, though.

Eddie Redmayne in Gucci

Leanin’ Eddie, using a wall for support this time. This is fine, but it feels a little stale. And what is with that patch on the sleeve?

Eugene Levy in Prada

Perfect. Love the white tie and the brooch.

Jared Leto in Gucci

Speaking of stale, Easter Bunny Jesus needs a new look.

Jonathan Bailey in Brunello Cucinelli

Love the suit, but the socks and shoes don’t go with it all that well.

Josh O’Connor in Loewe

Brown suiting is having a bit of a moment among the celebrity set. It’s not a look for everyone, but he looks great in this. Love the flower.

Leslie Odom, Jr. in Berluti

He looks like a character in a movie made in 1986 but set in 2021. That’s a compliment. This is fun, modern and futuristic.

Nicholas Hoult in Celine

We suppose you have to be preternaturally pretty in order to not look like a douche in this jacket. In other words, he’s pulling it off, but others should be wary of trying.

Regé-Jean Page in Louis Vuitton

Well. This all appears to be in perfect order.

Riz Ahmed in Luis Vuitton

Man, we really want to like this, but it looks like businesswear for a fast food executive. Orange and brown is a tough combination to pull off, but we think this might work if the pants matched the jacket.

Sacha Baron Cohen in Giorgio Armani

Enh. We realize it’s home-based and folks might feel silly getting fully dressed up, but this just looks so random and thrown together.

Sam McCarthy in Kenzo

LOVE. It’s all so wildly out of proportion that it works for him.

Steven Yeun in Dunhill

He has a very low-key, classic sort of style and it suits him very well but we sure wish he’d break out a little.
