We’re a bit surprised by how much we love this, but we’ll take it as another reminder of the basic style dictum that it all comes down to the right garment on the right wearer. For Minari star and Best Supporting Actress winner Youn Yuh-Jung, this comes off like the perfect pairing.

She’s been charming everyone throughout awards season, but she really blew everyone’s doors off with that speech. It should be noted that she expressed quite a bit of impatience with the American press when talking to the Korean press later and most people misunderstood her Brad Pitt comment to mean she had some sort of crush on him when in fact, it was a bit more biting than that. He was a producer on her film and she literally had never met him. When a reporter rather stupidly asked her what Brad Pitt smelled like she responded “I’m not a dog.” You’ve got to love a funny blunt speaker.

We can’t say we’re well-versed enough in her personality or background to make assumptions about her preferences, but it seems to us she’s not big on fussy high-fashion. We’ve got to give props to her stylist Alvin Goh, because this dress seems like a perfect solution for someone like that; it’s plain but chic and it looks really great with some killer diamond jewelry. The texture does all the work of keeping it visually interesting. It’s a shame the sash went all askew, but we bet she loved having pockets.
