To be fair, she’s been serving all sorts of semi-formal high-fashion looks all throughout lockdown, so it’s not quite accurate to say she’s not willing to go dressy when she wants to. But perhaps she was sensing that this year’s Image Awards would likely be a high-fashion eleganza extravaganza (which it absolutely was), and opted to serve a look that says casually chic looks are still an option in this weird liminal time between lockdown and breakout.
But you know what’s even MORE accurate? The idea that we’re over-thinking this and girlfriend just wanted to go comfy-chic for the night. Can’t say it didn’t work out for her.
